USING SCAFFOLDS TO HELP STUDENTS OF ALL LEVELS

Teachers at International Community High School are trained and experienced in providing supports for students of all levels. There are many different methods used in the classroom, including the use of "scaffolded supports." Throughout ICHS classrooms, teachers create materials that are intended to help students at different levels taking into account their school learning background and their English skills. These materials help students to succeed in their educational journey regardless of their initial entry level to the school. These supports are intended to be removed so that the more independent a student becomes in their work, the less supports that student needs to use.
